The Christmas Tag! 2015

Ta-Dah! I promised this post was coming next. I've been super excited to do this tag as I bloomin' love Christmas. Definitely my favourite time of year. I love getting in the festive spirit. And Michael Buble's Christmas album has literally been playing on repeat in my car since the 1st of December if not earlier than that. I kid you not.

So I remember seeing this tag last year and giving it a go on my old blog - before I had a re vamp and started this one properly, but I couldn't for the life of me remember who I had seen upload it. So I literally googled "The Christmas Tag Blog" and clicked on the first one that came up which was by MAKEUPSAVVY. She actually did hers last year, but that doesn't matter, so I'll link that here if you wanna go and see hers too. Basically it's just a bunch of questions about Christmas and I'm gonna go through and answer them for you because why the heck not.

1) What is your favourite Christmas movie/s?
Wow, start with a hard one why don't we. Erm, I'm gonna have to go with a good old classic - The Grinch. It is honestly one that I have to watch every single year. I shed a tear when his heart grows three sizes! So many funny lines from it and it just gives me a warm fuzzy feeling inside when I watch it. Bloody love it. I also really love Miracle on 34th Street, Love Actually, Elf - another classic in my book - and The Nativity. Just a few of my favourites there. I'm sure there's more but I just can't think of them.

2) Do you open your presents on Christmas Eve or Christmas Morning?
I don't think I've ever opened a present on Christmas Eve. I know it's a tradition for some people to open one present on Christmas Eve and maybe it's Christmas pyjamas or something. Although I do always get pyjamas for Christmas - that is a tradition - I don't open them on Christmas Eve. Mine are all ripped open first thing on Christmas morning. I spend Christmas with my little cousins so it's always a fun day.

3) Do you have a favourite Christmas memory?
Well not per say as I don't really remember this, but my Auntie always loves telling this story about when I was little. One year we were spending Christmas in Cornwall with my Auntie and Uncle, this was before my cousins were born, and apparently next doors dogs had bells on their collars and I was getting really over excited and wouldn't go to sleep because I thought I could hear Santa's sleigh with his Reindeer... Ah the magic.

4) Favourite festive food?
Pigs in blankets. Without a doubt. To be honest I love all the Christmas dinner really, apart from brussel sprouts. Yuk. But definitely my favourite part has to be the pigs in blankets. And of course all of the chocolate I get to scoff. That part's great.

5) Favourite Christmas gift?
God, I've honestly got no idea! I'm sure I had lots when I was a child I just can't remember them. My memory is shocking. Erm recently I have had an Xbox one year which was pretty awesome. I've also had a really nice coat from River Island that I love, but apart from them nothing really springs to mind, I really enjoy everything I get. My mum is so good at buying Christmas presents for me.

6) Favourite Christmas scent?
Ah I really love the smell of baking at Christmas, and I always buy the sickly sweet Yankee candles such as Christmas Cookie - which is my fave at the moment. But I guess you can't really beat the smell of a real Christmas tree. That has to be the best. So when we have our tree up in the front room with a Christmas cookie candle burning that is probably heaven for me. Oooh and also the log fire burning away, although that's really all through Winter and not just Christmas really, but still make me feel a bit festive!

7) Do you have any Christmas Eve traditions?
Honestly I wouldn't say we do in our house. I tend to get cosy in pyjamas with a hot chocolate and we may watch a couple of Christmas films, but that's not unlike any other night in December for me really. I'd love to start a tradition though, like with my kids when I'm a proper adult (as I don't feel like I'm good at the whole adulting thing yet).

8) What tops your tree?
We have an angel at the top of our tree, the same one I think we've had for donkeys since I was a kid. I think she looks a little bit worse for ware now. But it's what we've always done. Our tree tends to be mismatched too, like it's never got a colour scheme or any sort of theme going on. We just shove lots of random different decorations on and hope for the best.

9) As a kid what was the one (crazy, wild, extravagant) gift you always asked for but never received?
I was that typical little girl that repeatedly asked for a pony! I love horses and when I was younger I was definitely a bit horse obsessed. Never got that pony though... Still miffed about that Santa.

10) What's the best part of Christmas for you?
Can I say presents? Or? Aha, no seriously I love it all. For me the build up is the best, I love getting festive and wrapping presents watching Christmas films and just preparing for the whole day. Spending it with family is lovely and it just always gives me the warm fuzzies. Full on love Christmas.
